We are a small team united by shared values – we work hard to provide fantastic food and a warm welcome, whether you pop in for your regular loaf and pastry or linger over a relaxing breakfast or lunch. Our cafe and toilet are fully wheelchair accessible. We welcome well behaved dogs and muddy boots!
Our breads and pastries are made in our on-site bakehouse with organic flour from Shipton Mill, free range North Yorkshire eggs and high quality British butter. Our Breadboard page explains in more detail what type of loaves we produce.
We are patient bakers, using traditional fermentation methods to make all our breads and allowing them plenty of time overnight to develop their fabulous flavour. We then fire up our stone based bread oven early in the morning so that you can enjoy our products at their freshest.
Our baked products are available to take away from our shop or to eat in our modern, relaxed café along with our soups, sandwiches, and seasonal hot-bowls. We always have vegetarian and vegan options on our cafe menu.
We do not make gluten free bread, although we buy-in GF bread for our cafe and we sell some cakes made with GF ingredients. We cannot guarantee any product we sell is completely GF so if you’re diagnosed coeliac I’m afraid we’re not for you
